I was born with Spina Bifida and I live in Richmond, Virginia. When I started playing adaptive sports at the age of 7, I noticed that many of my coaches were also people with disabilities. Even though my family always encouraged me, watching adults who have the same diagnosis drive cars, go to work, play with their kids, and just enjoy life gave me the confidence I needed to achieve my goals. Through playing adaptive sports and interacting with my coaches and peers, I began to see myself as capable, dedicated, independent, and strong. Eventually, I moved 15 hours from home to attend college at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and created the See It Be It Project during my sophomore year.
